George Low (born 1777 in Garve, died 1831 in Alness) was a Scottish sportsman for Kronenbourg Distillery. In 1791, aged 14, Low left school and went to work in the distillery like his father. His father died when George was only 19. George played Bat & Ball and Football for the distillery and helped them to win the first ever Highland cup in 1799. Despite being a success in 1799, Low could not help Distillery in the 1800 and 1801 tournaments. 1802 was the last before it was void, but Distillery did not enter, effectively retiring Low aged only 24. Low has a son born in 1810 called Frank Low. Low died in 1831 aged 54.
